Cynaxus is hiring a Senior Cloud Architect to lead client engagements across our cloud and infrastructure modernization practice. This role is hands-on technical leadership — designing target architectures, leading migrations, and operating production environments under SLA. The architecture decisions are yours to make and yours to defend.
About the role
You will design landing zones, lead complex migrations (lift-and-shift through cloud-native rebuilds), advise clients on cloud-vs-on-prem decisions — including the unfashionable answer when on-prem is right — and operate cloud environments under managed-services engagements.
What you'll do
Run discovery against real estates: thousands of VMs, aging vSphere clusters, half-finished prior migrations. Produce target architectures with honest cost models the CFO can hold you to. Lead the migration waves yourself — runbooks, cutover windows, rollback criteria. Design identity, network, and guardrail foundations (landing zones, policy-as-code, IL5/FedRAMP boundaries where required). Carry production responsibility for what you build under our managed-services SLAs.
What you bring
10+ years of hands-on cloud architecture experience with at least one of AWS, Azure, GCP at deep level, and operating familiarity with the others. Multi-cloud or hybrid architecture experience strongly preferred. FedRAMP, IL5, or similar regulated-cloud experience valued. Excellent communication skills — you will represent the engagement to client executives.
