Cynaxus is hiring a Full-Stack Developer who can own an application across its full surface — front-end design and UI/UX, backend services, integration hooks, and the API in between. One person, full route, on products our regulated-industry clients run their businesses on.
About the role
We are looking for someone whose craft predates the AI-assistance era — an engineer who built real products before code generation existed, and whose portfolio proves it. You will use modern tooling here, including AI where it genuinely helps, but the judgment underneath has to be yours: you can design an interface, structure a backend, and shape an API from a blank page, and you can explain every decision in it.
What you'll do
Take applications from concept to production with full-stack ownership: design the UI/UX yourself (not just implement someone else's Figma), build the front end in TypeScript and React (Astro where it fits), implement the backend services and integration hooks in Node or Python, and design APIs that the client's other systems — and other vendors — will consume for years. Harden what you ship; our clients' security reviews are not a formality. Work directly with client stakeholders to turn vague intent into a product they actually wanted.
What you bring
A substantial pre-AI track record of shipped projects and products, with a portfolio you can walk us through commit by commit — we will ask. Prior engineering experience at a FAANG-scale company or Twitter is required, not preferred: we need someone who has seen what engineering rigor looks like at that scale and can bring it to a senior boutique. Genuine design sensibility — your front ends should demonstrate taste, not just competence. Depth across TypeScript/JavaScript, React, and at least one backend ecosystem (Node or Python). API design experience that has survived real third-party consumers.
What we offer
Full ownership of what you build — no handing your front end to a design committee or your API to an architecture board. Senior peers in security, cloud, and infrastructure one message away. Fixed-fee engagements paced for quality. US-based, remote-first culture.
